This was insanely insightful and packed to the brim with value. Thank you, Mack and Mia. This is my first impression of each of you and I am hooked! Implementing these tips and systems immediately.
Thank you, Jenny! I think what we will both consider is maybe doing a deeper dive into the triggers individually on our own Substacks. It's obvious we all love Mia's prompts, I suggested she do a deeper dive into working the prompts for one or more of the triggers that are most popular with her readers. I'm sure we will see both of us creating more around this topic, thanks so much for your support!
We did use some of the techniques here, although not all of them - IMO it'd be too much to appeal to all of these triggers at the same time (Mack might think otherwise but I think he, too, agrees with me :D).
Mack actually had a great idea: taking a piece of content and running it through each of these prompts to show how it works. But after discussing it a few times, we realized it would've led to either a looooooong 100,000-word newsletter or me doing a video walkthrough instead haha.
So we skipped it. We also figured that since each reader has their own goals, cramming all these triggers into one post would be overkill.
Might consider it for a future edition, if we're going to go deeper into one or two of these triggers :)
This is an impressive synthesis of persuasion psychology and prompt engineering. The structure is powerful, though I’d love to see a tighter focus. Three triggers per post instead of six would amplify retention and let the “movie trailer” metaphor carry through to the end. Brilliant concept overall though.
My pleasure, Mia. The trailer metaphor captures something essential about storytelling rhythm. It’s not just about building interest, it’s about holding attention through contrast and pacing. I’m already thinking about how to weave that approach into my next piece
I actually have a hook prompt generator to improve my opening, but treating them as if I were watching a movie could trigger something more emotional, I guess.
Gonna make some improvements from here, thanks for sharing, great post!
Loved the practical prompts throughout this article.
The commitment ladder concept also makes a lot of sense.
I think a lot of us skip those middle steps and then wonder why people aren't converting.
The newsletter example you gave (open email → click link → save → reply → download) is a good example of why each step should feel natural. Nobody wants to feel like they're being herded through a funnel.
This is one of the most structured, psychology-grounded AI content frameworks I’ve seen. Turning narrative bias and curiosity loops into scalable workflows is exactly how creators will outperform brute-force automation.
This is fantastic! From the details of how and why to the prompts, this is an outstanding system for building one's content calendar. Could be a great GPT to walk an author though the steps to creating a series of articles leading to an outcome. Thank you Mia and Mack!
Thank you Denise! I was already these ideas myself and now I am going to steal Mia's prompts to make them even better :) Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
Great content and advice mia. Question - whould you say this applies as well if I’m not “selling” anything? Galo is to provide information and awareness.
If your goal is providing information and building awareness, then focus more on the triggers under the Trust and Momentum stacks in the post. You want to make your content more interesting and accessible to your audience. So any trigger that sparks interest and moves them closer to engaging is what you want.
Also keep in mind that part of making your content more accessible is making your audience feel more comfortable engaging. This means if you are discussing a more advanced or technical topic, you need to consider how you frame it so that your readers will feel comfortable leaving a comment. Mia does a wonderful job with this, as she discusses AI (a complex topic that can feel intimidating) in a way that makes it more accessible by relating it to other themes like entertainment (a movie trailer) that make the topic more interesting to your audience.
Yes of course! Each piece of content has a goal, even though that might not be selling. You can use all the principles to move your audience towards your specific goal - engagement, comments, views on another pge, education, etc :)
Oh I can't wait Mia's prompts are amazing! Will read this now!
Awww thank you Lauren ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much June! :) happy to meet you on here ❤️
So happy to meet you too 🫶🏽
Thank you, June! You are too kind.
Love this, Mia and Mack! Definitely saving it, can’t wait to test it on my next posts.
I’m curious: Did you use these prompts while writing this one? Or have you done a full piece using the complete set? :)

Thanks for sharing your detailed thought process, the effort you’ve put into this really shows!
The length might be the only tricky part :)
But a deeper dive on a few triggers would be fantastic.
And if you ever do a video walkthrough, I’d love to see it! :D
noted!! ❤️❤️
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you!
thank you for reading ❤️
Oh la la you really put some work into this one ! Well done !
We did, indeed! Haha. Thank you so much for reading ❤️

There’s so much gem in this.

Thank you so much for reading! Yes, there are definitely lots of "triggers" you could add to existing prompts to improve them! :)
stealing. and YES, do this collab again, please.
Thank you Mark 😊 steal away! 😅
Thanks Mark!
Why is this free to read?
Where do I even begin?

Kudos to both of you for putting this together.
Love this comment ❤️❤️ thank you so much for stopping by and reading! 🤗
happy to support you and mack :)
Thank you sis, I have told Mia before that her prompts should be behind a paywall. Appreciate you so much :)

Appreciate you, Suhrab!
What! 😳 Why is this not behind a paywall?
This is the best Collab article I've ever read and not finish a sentence on my own. Geniuses, you both.
Mack, we forgot to turn on the paywall!!! Message everyone and ask for that $130 bill please.
Haha, in all seriousness, thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, sis :) You’re too kind, as always!
Really insightful post! I haven't come across the these contrarian approaches to content creation until now.
Definitely a post that I will revisit!
Thank you friend! 🤗
Thank you Ashwin!
Bookmarked!
Yaaaaay! 🥰

Hahahah steal away ❤️
Heeeey thank you for reading, Denise! Yes, a GPT is a great idea!!
I've been building one for members of my AI club at the request of a member, so GPTs are top of mind for me!

Mack, do chime in with your opinion too :)
Super helpful tips. Thank you both. Will apply them. Love the newsletter.
Thank you! ❤️
Love this, this is gold for a lot here! I like a lot the specificity you gave per each trigger and the detailed instructions though the prompts!
These are the kind of content people need to be actionable and specific!
Amazing job
Thank you Manuel, it means a lot! ❤️ We went a bit back and forth on how to combine the how and the why, but I THINK we nailed it hahaha
Absolutely you did!
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Manuel! Appreciate your support!
